Become a Certified Transforming Touch® Practioner
Join the thousands of Practitioners implementing Transforming Touch®'s scientific Regulation-Focused Approach for treating Trauma. Transforming Touch® Practitioners implement a series of Regulation-Focused Enhancements to improve regulation and reduce the effects of early stress and trauma on the nervous system. Transforming Touch® Regulation-Focused Approach can be a stand-alone treatment modality for treating complex or Developmental Trauma, or it can be used to support the effectiveness of other modalities. We often discover that those with who experience shock trauma have an underlying developmental trauma.
We offer students several ways to learn Transforming Touch®: 1.) Transforming Intentional Touch is the primary focus of the Online Learning. We have found many students are not able to travel for many different reasons. This way you will complete the Skills Building portion of the training online with other students in breakout rooms over Zoom®. You will also receive access to in person demos and can ask questions about working in person. 2.) For those considering learning Transforming Touch® in person, we offer a hybrid program to reduce the student's expenses. The majority of lectures are prerecorded and we ask that you review all the videos prior to the start of the program. On site, you will work in triads and have some lecture time. 3.) Independent Learning for those who want to join a class that is in progress or prefer learning on a 1:1, approach where they will work directly with a Senior Assistant for the Skills Building portion of the training.
To reduce your cost of learning Transforming the Experience-Based Brain® and becoming a Transforming Touch® Practitioner, we have designed a two-part training experience for students. All the lectures are taught through pre-recorded videos online for each of our learning approaches. The Skill Building portion is taught in-person, online, or 1:1. This reduces time away from home costs and travel-related costs.
Transforming Touch® Practitioners complete all three modules and show competency during the Skill Building experience along with the following requirements:
1.) Complete all 3 modules of Transforming Touch® training and be in good standing.
2.) All students my complete 12 hours of personal sessions (with an approved provider) and 6 hours of consultation (you can receive credit with individual consultations with an approved provider or by attending the free consultations with Ellen on Tuesday or Steve or Robin on Thursdays.)
All modules and associated requirements must be completed prior to receiving the Transforming Touch® Practitioner Certificate.

Case Consultation and Personal Session Details
The one-on-one Personal Sessions provided for credit throughout the training are intended as a support for the students’ experiential learning process of Transforming Touch®, although it is understood that these sessions may also contribute to the learner’s personal growth and development. All information shared with the provider and held strictly confidential.
In a Personal Session, students experience Transforming Touch® from the client perspective, and experience how the Transforming Touch® Practitioner has integrated Transforming Touch® into their practices. The sessions provided in this context allow Transforming Touch® Practitioners to share knowledge and expertise with students as they learn to integrate Transforming Touch® within their scope of practice.
The one-on-one Individual Case Consultations provided for credit through the training give students the opportunity to examine the application of Transforming Touch® with their clients through the services provided by an approved Transforming Touch® Consultation Provider. These Case Consults reinforce the student’s
Transforming Touch® skill development and professional development (i.e., countertransference, scope of practice, etc.).
These Case Consultations are a professional service focused on the application and integration of Transforming Touch® into a student’s professional practice.
Group Case Consultations provided for credit throughout the training include elements of the teaching function; Like Individual Case Consultations, these group consultations provide students the opportunity to examine the application of Transforming Touch® with their clients through the services provided by an approved Consultation Provider as they address the questions of all group participants.
Case Consultations reinforce students’ Transforming Touch® development and professional development (i.e., countertransference, scope of practice etc.).
It is strongly recommended that personal sessions and case consultations are distributed throughout the training as indicated above to receive maximum educational benefit. This will ensure receipt of valuable input and support as students progress through the training.
In the case that all recommended credits are not completed before commencement of the current training year, students may receive sessions and consultations at times that meet the students needs better.
Training Format: All-Inclusive with Registration
- Our Independent Learning approach allows students to learn at their own pace with the support of a Senior Assistant. After registration is completed, the student is given access to a series of pre-recorded lecture videos. Once the videos are viewed, the student schedules a time with the Senior Assistant to practice the Skill Building portion of the training. During this time, the student has access to the Senior Assistant to ask questions so that their learning experience feels more complete.
Training Perks
Students may repeat any completed module for 50% of the regular course fee.
- After completion of M1, Students are encouraged to trade sessions with others from around the world.
- After completion of M1, Students can attend free group Case Consultation weekly.
- After completion of M1, Students can attend a free healing session weekly.
- After completion of M1, Students can attend a free enhancement review weekly.
- After completion of each module, students will receive Enhancement Cards
- After completion of M3, Transforming Touch® Practitioners may sign up on coregulatingtouch.com at no charge.

Heal The Healer
Many of our students have shared and discovered that attending Transforming Touch® Training as repeat students offers time and space for their healing. One student stated, "Where can I go for an intensive offering up to 6 Healing Enhancements? The first time I experienced the training for my clients, the second time was for me and my clients, and all the rest are just for me". So, no matter why you are coming, all are welcome. We didn't realize the advantage of repeating at half price and the healing implications for Healers when the program was originally designed, but now with the Hybrid programs, it is truly a healing experience all the way through the training.

Lead Assistants for Distant Learning
Robin Sullivan, SEP, LMT, LMFT, Transforming Touch Practitioner
Robin Sullivan is a somatic psychotherapist in the Los Angeles area. As a Rehabilitation Counselor for 25 years, she assisted persons with various disabilities, worked in addiction treatment with Deaf persons, and in various mental health settings. After moving to California, she became a massage therapist, studied Somatic Experiencing©, and Touch Skills/Somatic Practice, and became an SEP in 2012. She went on to advanced studies in developmental trauma and attachment. She has assisted multiple Touch Skills trainings with Stephen Terrell, and for Somatic Resilience and Regulation, and TEB courses as well.
Robin received another master’s degree, and has been working as a Registered Marriage and Family Therapist Associate and Professional Clinical Counselor Associate since 2017. Working in various agencies and non-profits these past years, she has been incorporating SE and Transforming Intentional Touch into sessions, including work with couples, building on PACT couples training. She loves to learn, has been called “infinitely curious”, and is often moved by the power of laughter and even music that can arise during sessions. When not working or assisting, she often can be found presenting nationally and internationally in the stuttering community
Leslie Felbain, MFA, SEP, Transforming Touch Practitioner
Leslie’s undergraduate degree from the University of Wisconsin, Madison is in Neurophysiology and Dance and her
graduate MFA in Theatre and Devised Performance is from École Jacques Lecoq, (founder of Devised Performance
and Physical Theatre) and Atelier Serge Martin in France. She also trained in Theater of the Oppressed with Augusto
Boal. She has followed a long international career as a performer, director, teacher, and coach in the worlds of circus,
dance, and theatre.
Her own injuries and healing journey led her back to her interest in how the body works. She is a Certified Teacher of
the F.M. Alexander Technique (ATI), a Cranio-Sacral Therapist (Upledger Institute), and a Mindfulness Meditation
Teacher (Engaged Mindfulness Institute). After becoming an SEP, she continued training with Steve Terrell and Kathy
Kain.
Leslie has been teaching since 1974 and began her private practice in 1991. She was a long-time instructor at the
American Conservatory Theater’s MFA program in San Francisco and is Professor Emerita at the University of
Maryland, College Park.
Her research focuses on trauma informed training and performance practices for athletes, first responders, military, and
performers. Her private practice integrates her creative and healing arts practices. Her work with trauma includes
working with both developmental and shock trauma, and her foundational focus is Transforming Touch and TEB. She
is the co-director of Infinite Stage, a multi-disciplinary arts company creating Installations and Performances from
community stories, and the Creative Director of Giiraf, a company which promotes well-being through design,
performing arts and somatic practices.
Leslie’s life and work focus is on creating safe spaces for people to discover and explore habitual patterns that interfere
with the ability to be fully embodied and present in their lives. She is motivated by the wisdom of the body, the
resilience of life and our potential to heal. She is dedicated to service and has been a hospice volunteer for many years.
Leslie has lived and worked in many countries and speaks English and French fluently is conversant in Italian, has a
comprehension of German and is learning Mandarin.
